
BAKTI was founded in 1977 by YABhg. Tun Suhaila with the purpose of utilising the combined efforts of the wives of our country’s leaders to provide assistance to individuals who need assistance and attention.
The members of BAKTI consist of the wife of the Prime Minister, the wife of the Deputy Prime Minister, wife of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, wife of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of the Senate, and wives of the cabinet ministers and deputy ministers. Wives of former leaders currently not holding any office are made associate members. BAKTI has many community and welfare projects to help all Malaysians regardless of race, religion and culture. Some of the activities are welfare services, education, wholesome human development, sports and cultural activities.
Objectives
